on purchasing your Z? A happy story, horror story, or something in between. Here's mine (sorry kinda long): I bought my car new in 1995. I first went to Serramonte Nissan, Daly City, CA and looked for a used TT. All of the sales people were dickheads. They did not take me seriously. They finally got a kid to take me around the lot and would not talk to me about the new TT in the showroom, he said instead to take a look at a used 1994 NA in the lot. His first response while showing the car was, "you don't need to buy a TT, you can fix this car up and slap some turbos on it." Needless to say, I high-tailed it out of there. That was the first time I heard the NA to TT conversion. This was way back in 1995 LOL. I ended up going to Concord Nissan, where they were very professional and took care of me. They just sold the used TT that I went to look at and told me to take a look at a new 1995 Red TT-- my car. $43,500.00, I almost puked... but they said to hold on while we wheel and deal. This was at 5 PM on a Sunday night. We wheeled and dealed until 10PM when I got the car for $38,000.00. I was ecstatic... but after the $8,000.00 downpayment, it ended up being $692.76/month for 6 years, ouch. Anyways, I went back to the Serramonte Dealer the next day. People came up to my car from all over and were interested in purchasing it. The salespeople came out and said it wasn't their car to sell. I was browsing the parts department and heard all this as I came out. Two of the salespeople who recognized me, walked up to me and asked me why didn't I buy the car from them. I pulled a Julia Roberts from "Pretty Woman" and told them, "I know that you guys work on commission. It was a big Mistake, BIG MISTAKE, that you guys dicked me around! It was unprofessional and my treatment at your dealership was terrible. Just because I was younger, you guys wouldn't show me the time of day." Several customers heard the conversation and shook their heads. The sales manager also happened to hear this exchange while he was smoking and asked me if I wanted to come inside and maybe they could do something for me. I told them that I already bought my car and there was nothing that they could do for me. I will tell all my friends to buy from somewhere else. He did tell me however, that he would have a serious meeting with the sales department that afternoon. Oh well, sorry it was a long story, but I thought you guys and gals would get a kick out of it.
